Mary Portas Secret Shopper on Wednesday took a sharp look at customer service at budget chain stores in the high street. At Review Centre we’re no strangers to seeing customers complain about bad service they have received regarding simple advice, help asked for or difficulties returning goods.
Going undercover to secretly film how the stores fared uncovered untrained staff and poorly organised shops. Here is a sample of what our members think of the stores that were covered in the show.
Pilot
Only a couple of reviews for the high street store, Pilot have a fairly impressive 4.3 out of 5 stars.
Sometimes it is hard to find anything that you really want.
We’d love to hear your customer service stories for Pilot, good or bad.
New look
New Look has over 180 reviews and an overall score of 3.3 out of 5.
The manager then got involved and was rude
I think paying £44.99 should provide at least some assurance that the buttons aren’t going to fall off without the slightest resistance.
…am nearly always happy with what I buy and the service there
Love New Look? Let us know.
Primark
Primark has slightly less reviews with 80 reviews and an overall rating of 3.6 star out of 5.
…definitely worth popping in although it is often packed out and later in the day the store can get quite messy.
Also the staff that work in this particular store are ever so grumpy
I personally love Primark

H&M
With over 70 reviews and a rating of 3.1 stars out of 5, H&M seem to have recently been gathering quite a lot of negative reviews.
…things are littered all around the bottom floor and upstairs is just a massive maze of random clothing.
…the sales guys were extremely busy but very attentive to my needs
Horrible lighting in the dressing room.
