Here comes another weekend, and a brand new summer month! There is a lot happening in July. The festivals season is only just beginning, with some great ones still to come in London. You can celebrate American and French national holidays, and we see who is going to grab the Wimbledon trophy this year! Hopefully the weather will be more like summer and we can enjoy more weekends spent in the park!
The biggest London event is hitting Hyde Park tonight with gigs from The Black Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars. The Wireless Festival goes on until Sunday and those planning to attend will enjoy also performances from The Chemical Brothers on Saturday and Pulp on Sunday.
If you don’t have any plans for this Sunday, you can do something for charity and take part in The Hampstead Hug, a sponsored walk through Hampstead Heath to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Tour de France starts on Saturday and you can enjoy the opening ceremony screened at Trafalgar Square.
This weekend you can also enjoy some new film releases. Larry Crowne, featuring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts hits cinemas today. As does the Iranian drama A Separation and also The Conspirator, a drama starring James McAvoy that centres around the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. If you fancy a popcorn movie then the latest Transformers film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, is already out on general release this week.
