And The Winner Is…

Our Nature Photography Competition ended on Friday 9th September last week.  We received a huge number of entries, some of which were truly amazing shots! Thank you every one who entered! We have now collected all the entries, and the ones which were shortlisted can now be seen in our special photo gallery.

Our judge, the landscape photographer David Fleet, could only pick one lucky winner, and this person will go away with a shiny new Nikon D3100 DSLR camera to further improve their skills and take even more amazing pictures.

And the winner is….

Jack Hood

with his stunning macroshot of a dandelion seed.

Here is what our judge said about Jack’s photo:

“Jack’s shot stands out thanks to its interesting subject and strong composition which gives a glimpse of a world that we don’t usually get to see in detail in our day to day lives.

Technically Jack has captured this shot brilliantly, the composition perfectly compliments the subject, producing a graphically strong image. The choice of aperture allows us to focus on the subject without being distracted by the background and the simple colours enhance the subject further.

Jack should be extremely proud of this shot and I hope he continues to capture more stunning images on his new Nikon DSLR.”

Congratulations Jack! Your new camera will be on its way to you very shortly.

For everyone else disappointed at not winning, don’t fret – stay tuned right here or on our Facebook page for more gadget giveaways in the future.
