One of our staff here at Review Centre this morning received an email from Groupon. He had ordered a set of lights via an offer on the site back in January but then the fun started. They never arrived and email after email was sent asking for a refund or for the lights to be delivered. This unfortunately does not seem to be an isolated issue relating to Continue reading
It’s that time of year, when the effects of Christmas and New Years are truly showing. We promise ourselves to get fit, and sign up to the gym.
But are you being honest with yourself? There are a few questions you should ask yourself: Continue reading
Film rental services compared
On January the 9th Netflix launched in the UK and Ireland joining Lovefilm and Blockbuster in the home entertainment arena. So now there is more choice if you like to watch movies at home.
Unlike Lovefilm or Blockbuster however, Netflix is solely a streaming service. I have been waiting patiently for it to be available and am really looking forward to giving it a whirl. The price seems reasonable too at a flat fee of £5.99 a month.
I’ve previously used both Blockbuster and Lovefilm with varied success and our members have mixed views about both. Continue reading
With so many of us carrying around hundreds of pounds worth of handsets, is it important to get them insured? Generally those of us who have expensive mobiles tend to include mobile phone insurance when we take out the contract.
You might have received a new phone from Santa this Christmas and if so have you thought about how much it woud cost to replace if it was stolen or lost?

It’s that time of year again, when we can look forward to feeling extremely festive by watching a glut of Christmas movies. With so many to choose from, it can be quite difficult deciding which ones to watch.
I thought it would be interesting to see what our office loved to watch to get them in the Christmas mood. A few films were a little surprising (Ernest? Really?) but others were picked by everyone in the team.
Here are some of the Christmas films our team selected (in no particular order):
Scrooged
“Scrooged with Bill Murray is brilliant. He is a grumpy TV executive who goes a little nutty and is visited by 3 ghosts who tell him about his past, present and future!”
Should you take out a payday loan?
The demand for payday loans is ever increasing with over 3.5 million people expected to take one out in the next six months. (Source www.r3.org.uk)
From a related report from R3 (The Association of Business Recovery Professionals) debt worries also appear to be on the increase:
“…nearly half of people (46%) say they struggle to make it to payday – an increase from 44 percent in the last quarter.”
Interest in the short term loans has doubled in Continue reading
December is a very exciting month here in London; the streets are covered in Christmas decorations and there is the constant buzz of shoppers. And as the temperature starts to drop London sees a rise in open air ice rinks. They pop up everywhere in the capital in late November and are open until February. I am an avid ice skater and although I hate the cold weather, ice rinks are one of the things I love winter for.
Here are some of my favourite places to enjoy cutting some moves on the ice:
The Tower of London - This iconic London landmark offers a fantastic setting for winter skating. It is open from 10 a.m to 10p.m so you can enjoy skating during the day or after dark when you can see the place illuminated making a great night experience. There are drinks on sale so you can keep warm with a glass of mulled wine or a hot chocolate. For more information on tickets and opening times check out their website.
How many of us go on holiday with only our hand luggage? These days with rising costs it can save you money and also time (we all hate waiting around in baggage claims).
When this is the case, we all try and take the least number of items, sometimes even leaving behind our beloved camera. Well now you may not have to. With our guide you can actually travel light and still come away with some amazing photographs, simply by getting yourself some mobile accessories.

As a tourist it was once necessary to have to carry around a guide book and collect pamphlets as you visited attractions.
